The F.D.A (Food and Drug Administration) has a very specific definition as to what qualifies as a cosmetic, and it might be very different than what you or I think of as a cosmetic.
There are usually 2 or 3 questions about Cosmetics on the State Board Exam; some are definitions, while others are more specific – such as the one below.
According the the F.D.A definition, which of the following is not a cosmetic:
a) Shampoo
b) Conditioner
c) Shaving cream
d) Botox
If you choose answer (d), you are correct.
All the other choices meet the F.D.A definition of a cosmetic.
