The F.D.A (Food and Drug Administration) has a very specific definition as to what qualifies as a cosmetic, and it might be very different than what you or I think of as a cosmetic.

There are usually 2 or 3 questions about Cosmetics on the State Board Exam; some are definitions, while others are more specific – such as the one below.

According the the F.D.A definition, which of the following is not a cosmetic:

a) Shampoo
b) Conditioner
c) Shaving cream
d) Botox

If you choose answer (d), you are correct.

All the other choices meet the F.D.A definition of a cosmetic.

This along with many other current (2015) State Board Exam questions are available in our study-guides.
