According to recent statistics from the I.R.S., over half of all Americans make less than $28,000 per year (that equals about $538.00 per week before taxes).

But according to those same I.R.S. statistics, a 4 year college graduate can expect to make about $50,000 per year ($962.00 per week before taxes).

And here is the best part; according to those same “stats”, the average stylist makes about $46,000 per year ($885.00 per week before taxes).

And the above numbers are borne out by recently released statistics from the United States Department of Labor and the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS); both of these organizations report that a salon professional can expect to earn about $50,000 per year.

So if you have an artistic streak, enjoy people, dislike the rigid structure of corporate America,  and are looking for a career that is never boring – then Cosmetology might be the career for you.
