1) TRYING TO MEMORIZE YOUR TEXTBOOK
This is the #1 Mistake made by almost every student. And it is a mistake simply because it is impossible.
The State Board uses at least 2 textbooks to create your Exam. And in most states, they use 4 textbooks. Trying to memorize 4 textbooks, with over 4,000 pages – is not possible.
And if you even try, you are just setting yourself up to Fail!
Of course, there actually are a few things that need to be memorized; but it is important to understand what those few things are. Once you know, you will spend your time memorizing the right things.
2) SPENDING TOO MUCH TIME ON THE WRONG CHAPTERS
Certain chapters in your textbook (and the other 3 textbooks) will be heavily tested.
Some chapters will be lightly tested.
And other chapters will not be tested at all.
Do you know which chapters will be heavily tested and which chapters will not be tested at all?
If you spend your time studying chapters that will not be heavily tested you will be unprepared to Pass your Exam and you will end up Failing (the National Fail Rate is 49%).
3) NOT FOCUSING ON THE RIGHT CHAPTERS
This is the opposite of #2 above.
And it is a common mistake, especially among students taking their Exam for the 1st time.
Candidates waste their time studying what they “THINK” WILL BE ASKED on their Exam instead of WHAT IS ASKED on the Exam – and this is why the Failure Rate is so high at 49%. No matter how hard or long you study, if you study the wrong things you will Fail your Exam.
4) NOT GIVING YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME TO STUDY
Do not wait until 2 weeks before your Exam to begin studying.
This practice just sets you up to fail.
Why do that to yourself?
No one enjoys failure.
Failing the Exam is embarrassing and expensive.
Because each time you Fail, you must pay again.
WHY KEEP GIVING THE STATE YOUR MONEY?
